Total War Bake Off Round Up
Looking for something to keep you occupied between Total War campaigns? Then why not sit back and relax with a bit of thematically appropriate baking!
Here we’ve gathered all of the Total War Bake Off episodes released so far for your viewing pleasure – get stuck in!
Ancient Roman bread
We kicked off the series by getting the Creative Assembly crew to try and make libum, a rather stodgy concoction that’s somewhere between bread and a cake and was traditionally used as a votive offering to the household gods (check out the recipe here).
Vampire Counts bread
Next up was our very first Halloween episode, where we tasked our intrepid bakers with making some Sylvanian black bread (“An acquired taste. Black and lumpen, made of coarse grain and ground bone” – delicious) in order to celebrate the release of Curse of the Vampire Coast. Check out the somewhat suspect lineup – and some of the recipes we used as inspiration – here.
Total War Bake Off: Festag Edition
What better way to celebrate the holiday season than with some festive Festag treats? Here we had our bakers go all out, with each of them creating something tasty inspired by various Total War: WARHAMMER I and II factions. Check out all the seasonal showstoppers here.
Traditional Chinese treats
In order to celebrate the release of Total War: THREE KINGDOMS, we had our talented coworkers make some culinary treats inspired by Chinese cuisine, as well as bringing in Lulu and Zheng as special guest expert judges. Take a look at what they came up with here.
Traditional Japanese desserts
When Total War: SHOGUN 2 – Fall of the Samurai joined the Total War Saga family, we knew exactly what to do to celebrate: make a Total War Bake Off episode inspired by Japanese cuisine! With a wide variety of tasty Japanese treats to choose from, our judges went on a flavour adventure worthy of any wandering ronin – here’s what they got stuck into.
Warhammer muffins
With the introduction of the Muffin Man in The Hunter & The Beast, it would have been rude not to have done a muffin-focused Total War Bake Off. With another round of suitably spooky treats for Halloween, it was up to Grace and Jordan to crown our Muffin Monarch – which of these do you think deserved the crown?
Festag Champions League
We closed out last year with another Festag instalment of the Total War Bake Off – this time in the form of a hotly contested champions league. With teams of two – each including one past winner – creating both a savoury and a sweet dish to be served as pair to represent different Total War: WARHAMMER factions, this episode saw some really incredible bakes.
On your marks, get set, bake!
Don’t fret, Total War Bake Off fans – we’ll definitely be serving up more Total War treats as soon as we’re able!
However, if you fancy taking a bash at any of these recipes – or even cooking up something entirely new – in the meantime, please show us on social media!
